This summer 2025, trivago set out to strengthen its voice on social platforms across Germany,
the company’s home market. This project brought together two social media campaigns, Travel Like a German celebrating the quirks of German holiday culture, and Trust Your Pizza Maker a playful take on trivago’s role as the true hotel specialist.
Would you trust your barber to fly an airplane? Exactly. You go to specialists for the things that matter , and travel should be no different.
To bring this idea to life, we created fun street interviews where people playfully compared “experts vs. generalists,” highlighting
why trivago is the natural choice when it comes to finding the right hotel.
Travel like a German
Germans are highly self-aware of their own “Germanness,” particularly when they travel.
To tap into this cultural quirk, we collaborated with prominent influencers and content creators who
are widely recognized and known for humorously highlighting typical German behaviors.
Through playful content exploring what it means to “holiday like a German,” we demonstrated how using trivago
to compare hotel prices naturally aligns with that mindset.
